Female Incontinence

Stress incontinence often follows menopause or childbirth. Medical research has shown that sufferers of stress incontinence have an 80% positive outcome rate by strengthening their pelvic floor. Don't turn to medications or surgery as your first option. Learn about pelvic floor health and doing kegel exercises. This page is here to help you!

More than 100 publications have been peer reviewed and published since the late 1980’s on stress incontinence. The majority of these studies show that pelvic floor strengthening is an effective alternative to medication and/or surgery. The devices we recommend for female incontinence use different methods to achieve the same desired result of strengthening the pelvic floor. The Kegelmaster uses progressive resistance from springs to strengthen the pelvic floor. The Myself, PMTx and Pelvexiser all work with air pressure in the sensor and have biofeedback and all three are therefore very good options. The range of pressure settings in all three devices is lower than with springs, but within this class the Pelvexiser has the widest variability in pressure settings. We also recommend the Kegel exercise weights and the Step Free Weights for female incontinence, which do not have a set of different weights, which the user can progressively increase to exercise the pelvic floor. The Kegel exercise weights have a wider range of weights and do not need to be individually assembled.
