The StepFree vaginal weight system is similar to vaginal weights that have been favored by physicians for years to strengthen the pelvic floor. Different sized weights screw into the two piece cone system, so the resistance can be gradually increased for weak muscles. By positioning the cone in the vagina correctly the cone provides a variable amount of resistance depending on which of the weights you are using at the time. You can keep the cone inside you while doing various activities and once you can hold it in for greater than fifteen minutes the manufacturer recommends trying something more difficult like climbing stairs, jogging in place, or coughing, which will really help to build up your bladder control. StepFree provides a sensory aid that helps to isolate the correct muscles of the pelvic floor. StepFree also provides a structured, easy-to-follow exercise program with objective measures of progress, all of which can significantly increase patient compliance and therefore the effectiveness of PMEs.
